Jewish Inhabitants of the “Weinviertel”: Bringing back the Names

In this part of the website I want to bring back the names of the Jewish inhabitants of the Lower Austrian “Weinviertel” (a region in the north-east of Lower Austria). My most important source is the membership and payment register of the Jewish community Mistelbach, which covers the years 1929 to 1930. It mainly lists men; many women and all children could not be traced this way. The missing women could partly be added through the list of “Supporting Members of the Jewish Women’s Charity Mistelbach”. Further sources are listed at the end.

May this be a memorial for all the Jewish inhabitants of the Weinviertel, who were expelled and then forgotten. May they rest in peace.
